Billing Policy
One 1Medical is a Mixed Billing practice, meaning most consults will incur a fee. The Australian Medical Association fee structure forms the basis of our billing policy.
Our practice delivers the highest level of patient medical care, which includes longer consultations, minimal waiting times and caring staff in a safe, clean and comfortable environment. Unfortunately, these services are not fully covered by Medicare, and therefore a mixed billing policy applies.
We will continue to offer bulk billing to the following patients:
- Children 15yo and younger
- Pension card holders above the age of 65yo
- DVA gold card holders
- Work Cover patients with a valid claim number. If you do not yet have a claim number – you will incur a fee which you will need to claim back from work cover once your claim is accepted.
All other patients will incur a fee.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is bulk billing?
Bulk billing means that the doctor is paid directly by Medicare on behalf of the patient. This means that the amount paid for each medical service is the amount set by the Australian Government.
Some consultations, such as occupational health, Workcover consultations, insurance documents, commercial driver’s license medicals and private certifications, are not covered by Medicare and therefore need to be paid for privately without any Medicare rebate.
Why don't you bulk bill everything?
The Government sets the rebate amount available to a patient through the Medicare Benefit Schedule. Unfortunately, the rebate amounts set for medical consults have remained largely unchanged for decades and are insufficient to cover the costs of providing quality medical service.
